The World Today Revealed In The Scriptures

Most Evangelical Christians believe that the second coming of Jesus Christ is imminent, although, like Jesus himself, they refrain from trying to predict a day and an hour. It is an important subject and is referred to in the Scriptures (the Bible) many times both in the Old and the New Testament

This is what Jesus himself declared -

No-one knows about the day or the hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark, and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man - Matthew 24: 36 to 39.

Nevertheless Jesus also taught -

"Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven - - When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies you will know that its desolation is near - - At that time they will see the Son of Man (Jesus) coming in a cloud with great power and great glory. When these things begin to take place stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near" - Luke 21: 10 & 11 with 27 & 28

All this we have seen on a world - wide scale throughout the 20th century, and, now, in the 21st we find that the world is more unstable and out of control than it as ever been; and it all has to do with man´s sinful nature. The apostle Paul; writing to the church in Galatia says this -

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealously, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God - Galatians 5: 19 to 21

You may say that these things have plagued mankind since the dawn of history and before, and that is true, but there is a difference. Many of these things today are not looked upon as wrong, like they were in the past, but merely acceptable alternative life - styles and to do with ‘human rights’ and the freedom of the individual - in other words we want to be able to say - "I did it my way!"

Back in the time of the Old Testament a mighty angel spoke to the prophet Daniel  about the times that we are living in today and this is what was said -

"AT THAT TIME Michael, the mighty angelic prince who stands guard over your nation will stand up and fight for you in heaven against satanic forces, and there will be a time of anguish for the Jews greater than any previous suffering in Jewish history. And yet every one of your people whose names are written in the book will endure it.

And many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And those who are wise - the people of God - shall shine as brightly as the sun’s brilliance and those who turn many to righteousness will glitter like stars forever.

"But Daniel keep this prophecy a secret; seal it up so that it will not be understood until the end times, when travel and education shall be vastly increased!" Daniel 12: 1 to 4 The Living Bible

Travel and knowledge greatly increased during the 20th century, and in this century knowledge and education continue to accelerate and expand, yet man continues to sin and be unable to control his selfishness and his violence.

Jesus’ prophecy about Jerusalem has been fulfilled; Jerusalem is now surrounded by hostile armies. The Apostle Paul’s prophecy of the end times is also being fulfilled as people turn their backs on God and embrace a pseudo morality, and Daniel’s prophecy is no longer a secret, it is being fulfilled world-wide.

Daniel, in his prophecy, speaks of a book, and this same book is spoken of again and again in the New Testament - Jesus told his disciples that, above all, they should - "rejoice that your names are registered as citizens of heaven - Luke 10: 20 The Living Bible

And in the book of Revelation we read -

He who overcomes will - be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels - Revelation 13: 8

The apostle John tells us who are those who overcome the world and how they do it -

Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it who overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. - 1 John 5: 5

Can I ask you: Have you believed in the Son of God: Truly believed? The apostle James says this -

Show me your faith without your deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do - James 2: 18

Good deeds are not the means of salvation; faith is. But faith is just an empty word if it does not result in a new outlook and a changed life, full of good deeds. But if it does, then we can rest assured that we are saved for all eternity.

Is Jesus Christ the Son of God your Saviour? Is your name written in the Book of Life?

Jesus came to earth to do what you couldn’t do, keep the law of God without fault; Jesus did not sin, and yet he took our curse upon himself at the Cross and expiated it forever. If we will believe in him and follow him it will be counted to us as righteousness and when we die we will go to heaven.

Make your peace with God now and avoid the horrors that will come upon the earth.

Remember, it is only through Jesus. The apostle Peter stated this very clearly to the Jewish leaders of his day - Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved - Acts 4: 12

God Bless You All!!!
